How the game is set up:
- For each category, there are 2-4 steps possible to earn a badge for.
- Level 1: Explorer (the basic idea is just to learn about the tool)
- Level 2: Integrator (using the tool themselves, not applicable to all tools)
- Level 3: Innovator (using the tool with a group, could be students or colleagues)
- Level 4: Facilitator (teaching the tool to their peers, team, faculty, etc.)
- There are 9 “Properties” or categories of skills:
- Collaboration
- Communication
- Assessment
- Classroom Management
- Digital Citizenship
- Research
- MultiMedia
- Presentation Alternatives
- Productivity
- Each of the 9 Properties and their corresponding levels have a badge checklist to complete prior to submitting a request for a badge.
- There are lines at the bottom of the board to write in what tools they chose to use. As the options are far and wide, this is a way to specify. Have players refer to a site to find resources for learning. Example here.
- “TECHnicalities”, “Tech Support” and the corner graphics are place-holders, no badges are assigned to them.
- “Chance” is an opportunity for educators to submit an idea for a badge that may not fall in the given categories. The suggestor would design the badge and provide criteria.
- “Facilitator” - they choose the tool, present the tool, then earn the badge
- “Payday!” Earning Badges - a Badge Checklist is included, as well as suggestions for tools and resources to support those.
